Meeting the Troops!

The staff at Regional Headquarters. They are wonderful! The Caldwells are blessed - and they are blessed to have the Caldwells!

Anne in Anita's lovely office. Looking to the left I have the view of beautiful plants and sunlight!

Bobby in deep concentration in Brad's office.

Regional Headquarters in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Officers' Fellowship at Central Corps. We had a delicious meal - including 'hatchapuri' (Georgian cheese bread as seen on the picture) - yummi!

Wonderful fellowship and food!

The Georgia Officers gathered together for a Mission Strategy Meeting. What an amazing, hard-working group of leaders! (It must be a Georgia-thing : - ) The Chief Secretary, Lt. Col. Alistair Herring and Lt. Col. Astrid Herring were there, and they were a great encouragement! It was a great day of sharing.

Our first day in the office started with coffee and cake with the staff. It was a lovely time of fellowship. Then we met with each staff member, and had a time to share and pray together. They are all very busy people, dedicated to the mission of The Salvation Army, and we feel so blessed to be working alongside each one of them over these next few months.

The learning curve is steep, and it is probably going to get steeper and steeper over the next several months - as we transition into Ukraine, as well. We are listening and learning, taking it all in, and we feel extremely privileged to have been entrusted this ministry. There is a lot going on in Georgia! The Salvation Army is doing great things here! Hats off to Majors Brad and Anita Caldwell and their great team!

Friday we were blessed to get to spend the day with all the Officers of the Georgia Region. We had a Mission Strategy Meeting, followed by fellowship. What a fantastic group of Officers! It was great to experience their passion for the mission of The Salvation Army, and to hear some of what is happening at their Corps. We look forward to visiting the Corps in the weeks to come.

The Chief Secretary, Lt. Col. Alistair Herring and Lt. Col. Astrid Herring arrived on Thursday to be with us for this weekend. What a blessing and encouragement! A full weekend with many, many blessings... look out for the next blog with pictures and narrative of the weekend - with the 15th Anniversary in Rustavi Corps, our welcome meeting at Central Corps, and some great times of fellowship in between!
